The Twentieth - For unto us a Child is born / And the Glory
A Handel double bill today
The first, chosen by Ian Robinson is Unto Us a Child is Born from Handel’s Messiah; "Advent always prompts me to have a Messiah-fest and parts of it can stir great emotions within me. The relatively small-scale recording by The English Concert & Choir is also my personal choice.
Of course, this part references the famous Isaiah prophecy used widely at Christmas."
The second, (editor's privelege!) is the earlier chorus, And the Glory of the Lord, which we've had a lot of fun rehearsing and will be including in our concert this evening with the Tyndale Choral Society. Andrew.
