Worship

Parish Eucharist

We use modern language Common Worship services (Order One) including Morning Prayer on weekdays and Parish Eucharist on Sundays.  A nave altar is used for most of our Sunday worship except on fourth Sundays when we receive communion at the high altar.

An organist and robed choir lead the music at our 9.30 Parish Eucharist, while members of our congregation read the Bible readings and lead the prayers.

Family Celebration

A music group plays for our 9.30am Family Celebration on the first Sunday of the month, which is a more informal all-age communion service with a mix of worship songs and hymns, and an interactive talk or drama.  Children lead in the procession and help with the readings and the offertory.

Coffee and other refreshments are served after all our 9.30 services and we are known for our cakes!

Other services

Morning Prayer is said each day Monday–Saturday at 9.15am in church, mostly led by members of our congregation. Sacred Space takes place three or four times a year - a more reflective, quieter service on a Sunday evening. Café Praise is an occasional informal service with Bible study, discussion and prayer over a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon.

In addition there are a number of special and seasonal services - please see the calendar for details.

Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry team was formed in 2006 to encourage and promote prayer within the life of the church. Team members offer prayer ministry on a rota basis to individuals who would like someone to pray for them or with them following the Sunday service once a month.  We also try to encourage prayer by members of the church for special purposes.
